Welcome to The Ship Inn

Welcome to our website which this year, includes a brochure thats incorporates all the events planned in both The Ship Inn and The Golf Tavern.

As Easter approaches, we look back on a winter which will be remembered for the 100mph gales that hit Elie on 3 January. The damage to properties was extensive and sand from the beach spread over roads and into many gardens. As repairs were carried out to many roofs, including ours at The Ship Inn and The Golf Tavern, locals were upbeat and agreed that the wind had been infinitely preferable to the six weeks of snow that we had encountered the previous winter.

Throughout this winter we have had Planning Applications submitted to Fife Planning for both of our outlets. At The Ship we are looking to modernise our toilet facilities whilst changing the layout of much of the ground floor. At The Golf, we have a more ambitious plan to increase the size of the business in order that we may offer improved facilities for the Earlsferry end of the village. Needless to say, the planning procedures are taking longer than we had envisaged, but hopefully a positive conclusion to these plans will be worth the wait!

Inside the Brochure you will find not only details of menus and a wine list, but there are also details of ticketed events, cricket fixtures, product promotions and news of a new Ship Inn CC Team Sponsor!

Finally, Jill and I would like to say ‘thank you’ to all of our Staff who have worked so hard, not only during the high season, but also during the winter when maintaining enthusiasm for coastal businesses in inclement weather requires real dedication! Of course, thanks are also due to you, our customers, without whose support, facilities like our pubs would cease to exist.

We hope you like our new Brochure and have many happy visits to both The Ship Inn and The Golf Tavern throughout the year!
