FOOD & DRINK

Richard and I are now in our nineteenth year at The Ship Inn and I am about to embark upon my third year as Head Chef.
Last year saw our food turnover continue to grow and there was great excitement when Heston Blumenthal came here to film part of his ‘In Search of Perfection’ series for the BBC. In the East Neuk of Fife he was in search of the ingredients which, when put together, create the perfect seafood pie. At The Ship he examined the contents of our Cullen Skink.
This year we welcome back David Ogilvie into our kitchen after his year away as Chef at Blackpool Football Club.
We are hoping for better weather for our barbecues this year as it seemed to rain every Sunday in 2007!!
Sunshine was on the agenda in March when Richard and I went to Tuscany to taste the Brunello di Montalcino in Uccelliera (see our wine list) and to see if Scotland’s rugby team could revive their fortunes.
For the rest of the year I shall be trying to persuade Richard to agree to build me a bigger kitchen!!
